Christmas 2009

Well it was an interesting one. Christmas eve we went up to my cousin Julie's house to have dinner with my Grandma Neff. That was fun we enjoyed catching up. When we got home Bubba was complaining that his stomach hurt. We just thought he was excited for Christmas. Turns out he had the stomach flu and was up pretty much the whole night. Christmas morning and day he was fine and was able to enjoy opening his gifts. Wendie, Dave, and Kaylee came out to have lunch with us and then went sledding. Bubba then came back with this....

He went off of a jump and landed on his face. He is ok now and just has those couple of scratches on his face.
Saturday John's parents got home from Phoenix with Harley and Scottie. We all went to their house to sleep over and open presents in the morning. Well Sawyer then started throwing up that night and then that morning (about 2) I got sick. Fun stuff! We got up and opened presents (luckily Sawyer was back to health) and then John and his family went up to see his Grandma. I asked John to take me back home so I could rest. They then went back to John's parents house and enjoyed a turkey dinner. I enjoyed it Monday. So needless to say our Christmas was a good one but could have been better. Here are some of the boys favorite toys.

Family Christmas Party

We had my side of the family Christmas party this past weekend. We had great food and some great laughs. I gave Karlie a giant spoons game and we played a few rounds and had a lot of fun! John's gift was the best though!

This is what he opened....

Fits nicely doesn't it?

This is actually what he got....

There was a mix up on the names on the gifts. It was pretty funny! We are actually surprised it doesn't happen more often with all the wrapping that goes on.
Sawyer got a wood train, Conner got a K'nex set, and Bubba got a Magnetix set and they all LOVED them. We got home at about 8 and I finally made them put them away at 10 so we could go to bed.

Christmas Decorations 2009

We also decided to put up our decorations finally. Here are some pics. Sawyer kept clumping them together. It was quite funny. We also found a pretty good place for our stockings.

Winter Days

Sunday we woke up with a ton of snow! John and the boys went out to shovel the driveway. I was inside trying to get over a cold. It had been awhile since I had seen the boys so I looked outside. This is what I saw....

They built a snow man. And yes it is in the middle of the street.

New Moon

This is late I know but better late then never. This is the only picture I was able to get of the night because my camera battery died right after I took this picture. I wasn't even able to view it. I really loved the movie and can't wait to see the next one in June!

Thanksgiving Weekend

We had a great Thanksgiving weekend! We spent Thanksgiving at John's parents house. Had a great dinner and lots of snacks. We then took the boys to see Planet 51 on Friday. They really enjoyed that. We had a late lunch and so when dinner came around we were all doing word searches or fill-ins and weren't very hungry so we had all sorts of snacks for dinner. Conner really thought that was fun. Saturday we went over to John's parents again and had some awesome steaks and hung out for awhile, then John and I went to the Mt Timpanogos Temple and did a sealing session, that was nice. We then went and picked up the boys from his parents house and went to his indoor soccer game. They won and John scored 2 points. He is always fun to watch. Then Sunday we relaxed and went to church, came home had some dinner and played some more games. It was a really great weekend, and I am so very grateful for my family and extended family and the love and support I feel from everyone. I hope Christmas can be just as wonderful!

Traditions

We have a Halloween tradition in our family. We carve pumpkins the Sunday before Halloween and I love it. Sawyer fell asleep on the way down to the Carter's so his didn't get done, but when we finish it we will post a pic of all of the finished pumpkins.

Link

I have a link on my blog site that is worth checking out. Go to my blog site and it's on the right hand side. It's 365 days of slow cooking recipes. I have tried a few and they are really good and easy to do in your crockpot.

Disney Trip pt 2

Here are a couple more cute pics I forgot to add onto the last post.

Of course we had to get the boys some Mickey ears. Then Grandma and Grandpa bought them some silly hats.

We just thought this was silly.

Disneyland Trip

John's parents took us to Disneyland this past week, and we are very grateful to them for this trip. This was the first time there for the boys and we had a ton of fun! It was Halloween Time there that was cute. John (bubba) said it was the best 3 days of his life.

The first day we went to the beach.

We then went to Disneyland and California Adventures the rest of the week.

We had a really great trip. But now we are dealing with all three boys having the H1N1 flu. So we will be confined to our house for the next week.

9/05/09 football game

John had an awesome game on Saturday! For offense he scored 2 out of the teams 3 touchdowns. For defense he had 5 sacks and 8 tackles. Sorry about the revision. I was corrected by my loving hubby. He was on target this week. His next game is this Saturday the 12th at 9am in Lindon. This slide show is from his second touchdown, my camera does the sport shot so this is a play by play of it.

Bee Magnet

Poor little Sawyer is a bee magnet. He has been stung 4 to 5 times and all different days this summer. This last one was at Bubba's football game before it even started. He kinda wines a little bit but never has really cried when he gets stung. Such a trooper. He got stung on his forehead and it swelled pretty good, but by the time the football game was over it had gone down. That night his eye got a little puffy, but then Sunday morning it looked like this. We gave him some benadryl and by the afternoon he was able to open his eye again but he looked like he had been in a boxing match. It had spread into his nose so it made his nose flatten out. It's a lot better this morning.

First Games

The boys had there first games of the season this last week. They were both very excited and anxious to play. Conner's was first. He is number 7. He scored 2 goals and played keeper for a quarter. He was bummed because he couldn't play more.

Then came Bubba's game. He is number 14. He played really good, moving the ball up the middle really well and also making some defensive tackles a few times to stop them from progressing. They lost at the last of the game (refs were horrible), but he had a lot of fun. I will have to get more "action" shots of Bubba later, my camera battery was dieing.

First day of school

John has Mrs Carpenter.

And of course Sawyer had to be included.
